Description
Without an understanding of dental economics and the impact of dental benefits to base sound business decisions, offices will be risking financial stability by making uneducated choices. This course will discuss the dental marketplace, past and current economy, dental benefit evoloution and current status of third-party payers. Discussion on network participation, contract language, common provisions and its impact to the dentist/practice as well as a review of current policies and trends with benefit packages, new legislation; non-covered services, credentialing bill and leasing bill will be discussed. A brief introduction regarding the new 2020 CDT codes.

 BIO

Joan Monaco, DMD, is the NJDA Director of Dental Benefit Programs. A 1991 graduate of UMDNJ NJDS, Dr. Monaco was in private practice from 1991-2007, when she took a position with a major insurance carrier. In 2007 she left both private practice and the insurance firm to establish her own consulting firm. Joan joined the staff of NJDA in 2015.
